Consistent warmth, occasional rain chances

We’ve settled into a steady, summer weather pattern fairly quickly. If you’re a big fan of spending time at the beach and/or pool (the pond is best for me), this forecast is right up your alley. Temperatures are going to remain above average through the weekend and into the start of next week.

There is a fairly consistent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly during the afternoon to evening hours, from today into the start of the weekend. The bad news is they won’t be spread across the region for all of us to enjoy. We’re in for daily rain, but the hit-and-miss nature of the thunderstorms means we won’t all fill the rain gauge each and every day.

The jet stream looks to “back up” around the middle of next week and that will send some drier air our way around Tuesday or Wednesday, thanks to a bit of Canadian air. Temperatures are still going to be seasonably warm, but we’ll take a break from nudging the 90s for a couple days, at least.
