(ABC 6 News) – Rochester’s first indoor skate park opened its doors Friday.

The Garden Skatepark and Coffee Shop, located inside the former Whiskey Bones building at 3820 N. Broadway Ave. offers more to do than just skating.

The Garden Skate park doubles as a coffee house, giving a place for parents with aspiring x-game stars a place to relax while they watch their kids.

The owners, Laura Kramer and her husband Adam, closed on the Whiskey Bones lot in August 2022 for $850,000. That spot had been vacant for years.

“Winter seems like 6 months out of the year here and the closest skate park to Rochester is in Winona, otherwise you have to go up to the twin cities. so yeah, we needed something else to do around here,” said Laura Kramer.

The skatepark and skate shop will ONLY be open as the coffee shop will be opening sometime next week.

The Garden Skate park is open 7 days a week and a day pass runs 12 dollars.
