Loftus was arraigned on the new charges Friday.

He was already held in the Adult Detention Center when Olmsted County law enforcement determined that he was the suspect in Arleth’s death and discovery in a field over the summer.

Loftus is charged with 3rd-degree homicide–sell/give/distribute controlled substance for allegedly supplying Arleth with fentanyl, which caused her overdose death. He is also charged with felony interference with a dead body for possibly hiding her dead body in a trailer near his house, then transporting her to the Haverhill Township field where she was found.
