11 people, 2 dogs displaced after mobile home fire

(ABC 6 News) – Five adults, six kids and two dogs have been displaced after a fire destroyed a mobile home Friday morning.

At about 11:22 a.m., crews were called to a mobile home in the 700 block of 23rd St NW of Stewartville in the Southern Hills/Northridge Place.

When crews arrived, they found a mobile home fully engulfed in flames. All the adults had been evacuated. One adult on oxygen needed assistance. All 6 of the kids were at school at the time of the fire.

The house was determined to be a total loss, but there is an unknown dollar amount of loss at this time. The Red Cross is helping with shelter and necessities.

Two adults, and 1 child had been living at the mobile home on a temporary basis.

The Rochester Fire Department responded for mutual aid to assist the Stewartville Fire Dept. with additional firemen and equipment. Crews evacuated surrounding mobile homes as a precaution.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time. The State Fire Marshal is investigating.

The Stewartville First Responders and Mayo Clinic Ambulance also assisted in the response to the fire.
