(ABC 6 News) – Every Wednesday in January, ABC 6 News is sharing tips and tricks to help you have a healthy new year. In this week’s edition, ABC 6 is sharing more about Mayo Clinic Health System’s new Journey to Wellness program.

The Journey to Wellness program is designed to put resources to stay healthy right at your fingertips with monthly toolkits. The kits include blogs, videos, handouts, and different activities. The month of January is focused on “moving more.”

“We’ve done different projects before and then we just wanted to keep people engaged for a full year,” said Tina Tharp, the community wellness supervisor at Mayo Clinic Health System.

“We know that we have some wonderful resources between Mayo Clinic and Mayo Clinic Health System and how we can get those different resources out to people.”

Other topics in the months to come include heart health, reducing stress and anxiety, sleep, and reducing your cancer risk.

In addition to individuals, the program is available to businesses. Helping keep you and your coworkers healthy.

“There’s activities and so their employees can challenge each other or they can do it, individual,” added Tharp.

“We also have some educational pieces that can be printed out and put out in the break room, lunch room, that way [there are] so many different tools to show the information to employees.”

More than 1,200 have registered so far for the program.

The program is free and you do not need to be an MCHS patient to register. If you are interested in registering, you can click here.
