UPDATE: Rohler Rink determined a ‘total loss’ after fire

(ABC 6 NEWS) – The Rohler Rink in Brownsdale was on fire Saturday night and has now been determined a total loss by the Brownsdale Volunteer Fire Department.

The Brownsdale Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire after 10:30 p.m. on Saturday at 316 Market St. SE in Brownsdale.

Witnesses reported flames were coming from the roof of the building.

The Brownsdale Volunteer Fire Department requested assistance from Austin Fire. When they arrived the building was engulfed in flames and Brownsdale Fire requested help from the fire departments of Adams, Dexter, and Rose Creek for additional water resources.

The fire was completely out by around 4 a.m. on Sunday.

No one was inside the building at the time of the fire.

A Brownsdale firefighter was treated at the scene for minor smoke inhalation.

Another Brownsdale firefighter was taken to Saint Marys Campus with non-life-threatening injuries after falling while conducting water shuttle operations.

The entire building was a total loss and the cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brownsdale Fire Department, Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Mower County Sheriff’s Office.
