Rumor of weapon threat at Stewartville Middle School unfounded

(ABC 6 News) – A rumor prompted school officials in Stewartville to call law enforcement to investigate.
Late Wednesday evening, school officials were made aware of a story that a weapon was possibly going to be brought to school on Thursday.
The school worked with law enforcement to investigate the possible threat. After the investigation, it was determined that the rumor was just a rumor.
According to a letter sent to parents, the source of the rumor has been ‘dealt with’, saying at no time was there any immediate danger to students or staff members.
