(ABC 6 News) — Authorities said two women were riding in a camper being pulled by a pickup truck when they got in a crash.

It happened around 4:00 Monday afternoon on Viola Road in Haverhill Township. According to the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office, 26-year-old Jontrell Overton-Smith of Kasson was driving the pickup. A 24-year-old Stewartville man was a passenger in the truck, and two women, 23 and 30 from Rochester, were riding in the camper.

Authorities say the passenger in the truck noticed Overton-Smith falling asleep at the wheel, and the truck was drifting over the fog line. The passenger told deputies he grabbed the wheel to try to correct it, but the truck drove onto the shoulder and the camper fishtailed into the ditch. The camper got knocked onto its side and was destroyed.

The 30-year-old woman riding in the camper was sent to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.

When deputies got there, they arrested Overton-Smith on suspicion of DWI. They also said they found amphetamines on him.

Overton-Smith is facing charges of DWI and 5th-degree possession of a controlled substance.
