Dole issues recall on salad items due to listeria concern

(ABC 6 News) – Dole Fresh Vegetables, Inc. has issued a voluntary recall on multiple salad items that were distributed in Iowa and Minnesota, among other states, due to listeria concern.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said the recall includes all Dole-branded and private label packaged salads processed from the Bessemer, NC and Yuma, AZ production facilities. Those items can be identified by a product lot code starting with either "N" or "Y" and have a use by date between November 30, 2021 to January 8, 2022.

Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause symptoms such as fever, headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.
