One person injured in Mason City liquor store stabbing

(ABC 6 News) — A Mason City man is facing charges after a stabbing at Northside Liquor Friday afternoon.

According to Mason City Police, it happened around 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 7. Police got a report that one person had been stabbed outside the store. The victim was sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Shortly after the stabbing, police identified the suspect, who was found nearby and arrested. That suspect has been identified as 43-year-old Elgin Richmond. He’s been charged with Willful Injury, a felony. He’s in custody at the Cerro Gordo County Jail.
