(ABC 6 News) — A win for Osage Football this season has now been stricken from the record.

On Wednesday, news came out that the Green Devils reportedly forfeited September 9’s 28-22 victory over MFL MarMac as a result of an IHSAA infraction.

Osage Football allowed one of their athlete to play in two quarters of an Osage JJV football game before putting him in the entirety of the varsity team’s contest against MFL MarMac.

The IHSAA will only allow an athlete to play for five quarters in one day and as a result Osage self-reported the error.

ABC 6 News reached out to IHSAA Assistant Director Jared Chizek who confirmed the report:

“Osage self-reported that they had an individual play in six quarters last Friday against MFL… They were the ones that contacted our office.”

The Green Devils’ next football match is at Clear Lake on Friday, September 16.
