Brandon Marshall

Brandon grew up on a farm in a small town in rural Illinois. He remembers watching summertime thunderstorms from a distance as they roared across open fields.

He’s had a passion for weather at a young age when he would stand in front of the television and wait for the weather on the local news. He would then turn the volume down and pretend he was giving the forecast. So he was destined to be a broadcast meteorologist.

Brandon has an extensive background in broadcasting. He began a radio career in 1999 that last 14 years before he decided to pursue another challenge, that being weather! He started his meteorological career in 2016 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where he worked for 4 years.

Education

Brandon attended the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois and completed the colleges’ meteorological program before enrolling in the distance learning Geosciences program with an emphasis in Broadcast and Operational Meteorology through Mississippi State University in Starkville.

Personal Interests

Brandon is a huge baseball fan. Deep down, he’s passionate about his Chicago Cubs, but roots for various teams. He also loves spending time with family, storm chasing when he has the chance, and listening to music of all genres.
