They have been planning this event for the last six months and preparing food for the last month and a half. Between 50-75 volunteers have been donating their Saturdays to prepare for the festivities.
All of the food is prepared using authentic recipes passed down from ancestors.
According to the chairman of Greekfest, Ari Kolas, the goal is to have a safe and fun weekend celebrating the culture and community.
“Everyone takes a drink or soft drink, does a little ‘OPA!’ to a long life, end of the Greekfest. Just come out and be Greek for the weekend. you will love it 100% guaranteed,” said Kolas.
The drive-thru opens from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. which is when the full festival will kick off.
