Fillmore County Attorney confirms September fatal buggy crash reports filed

Deadly buggy crash investigation complete

(ABC 6 News) – The Fillmore County Sheriff’s Office has turned in its reports on the September 25 crash that killed two children and injured two more, according to Fillmore County Attorney Brett Corson.

The Fillmore County Attorney’s Office will review those documents and decide whether there is a case to charge anyone in the crash, and what those charges will be.

In October, ABC 6 News accessed search warrants that indicated that the sheriff’s office suspected the suspect in the fatal crash on County Road 1, Sarah Beth Petersen, of switching places with her identical twin sister, Samantha Jo Petersen, who may have been the actual driver.

Since then, there has been little information regarding the investigation.

Corson said there is no projected timeline for his office’s review of the documents — the attorney’s office may have additional questions or want clarification before making a decision about charges.
