Rochester man sentenced in February 2021 drug bust

(ABC 6 News) – One of two men arrested in a $180,000 pill bust pleaded guilty Monday.

Abdullahi Islaw, 26 of Rochester, entered a guilty plea ahead of his hearing scheduled June 6, for one felony count of first-degree controlled substance possession.

Islaw was sentenced Monday to five years of supervised probation as well as 100 hours of community work service.

Islaw and co-defendent Dahir Dahir were arrested in Feb. 2021, after a traffic stop led to the discovery of around 6,000 pills appearing to be oxycontin, possibly laced with fentanyl.

Dahir faces charges of introducing a controlled substance into a correctional facility, as well as speeding.
