Abduction in SE Rochester

(ABC 6 News) – An abduction in Southeast Rochester had authorities busy Wednesday night into Thursday afternoon.

Rochester Police say they received a call, shortly after 10 p.m., in the 1300 block of Marion Road, after a female knocked on the front door of a home asking for help and claiming someone was after her.

Authorities say that, at about that time, a vehicle pulled up on the grass at the home and an individual with a knife got out of the vehicle and then forcibly put the female in the car while punching her multiple times.

Before leaving, the suspect reportedly threatened the people at the home and warned them not to take down the license plate number.

Rochester PD said after getting a good description of both individuals from the witness and using video from nearby businesses, officers were able to identify and locate the woman at work.

Later, after surveilling the suspect, police were able to stop the man around 3 p.m. Thursday and arrested 31-year-old Richard Eaton of Rochester.

Eaton is facing possible charges of 2nd-degree assault, false imprisonment, 1st-degree witness tampering and felony threats of violence. Authorities also found 2 ½ grams of meth in the vehicle when he was pulled over.

The 37-year-old female victim was also found to have a felony warrant out for her arrest.
