A rinse and repeat forecast

Sunshine and summer temperatures are going to continue into the weekend. There is a stubborn blocking pattern in the jet stream and we’re not going to see much adjustment in that anytime soon. One subtle change you’ll notice this weekend is a slight increase in humidity Sunday into Monday, but it’s still not enough to get much going in the way of thunderstorm activity. The upside of this stalled out weather pattern is that haze and smoke *should* stay to our west and north unless we see more fires develop in other locations.

Of course, we’re in need of some rain around here, and while there’s a real slim chance of an isolated shower or storm later next week, there are no indications of widespread, soaking rain anytime soon. For now, enjoy the quiet weather through Memorial Day weekend.
