(ABC 6 News) — The MSHSL’s board of directors met Thursday, making a handful of approvals for the upcoming 2024-25 school year.

First, a suspended game policy for soccer will see games continued from the point of suspension if the game has been suspended before a full half has been played. A game can be forfeited — or in the playoffs ruled final — by mutual agreement between the coaches (and the tournament manager in the postseason).

Girls tennis will now have a Class 3A; but unlike other proposals that were passed, that tennis proposal will take effect during the 2025-26 school year.

The League also added two big changes for seeding in volleyball and football. The State Volleyball Tournament will seed all teams in all classes 1 through 8, eliminating random draws.

In football, the State Tournament will feature geographically split brackets, North and South, for 9-Player through 5A. The top North seed will play the lowest South seed and vice versa in the semifinals.
