(ABC 6 News) — Two local girls basketball standouts made their college commitments on Thursday, both unique and intriguing in their own ways.

Starting with Lourdes’ Ella Hopkins, the Eagles standout has committed to one of the best schools in America to play basketball, Gonzaga. Hopkins will join a Bulldogs crew that won its tenth straight West Coast Conference title last year and made the NCAA Women’s Tournament.

Meanwhile, Austin Packers star Olivia Walsh will be reuniting with teammates Hope and Emma Dudycha at Minnesota-Crookston. The former Prep of the Week athlete will be focusing on the hardwood in college after a solid three-sport career. In addition to basketball, Walsh’s time at Austin has also consisted of swimming and track and field.
