L-P’s Buay Koak and Mayo’s Hannah Hanson reach 2K and 1K career points respectively

(ABC 6 News) — Tuesday night saw a pair of milestone achievements for two local southeast Minnesotans.
Against the Southland Rebels, Lyle-Pacelli boys basketball’s Buay Koak scored his 2,000th career point in a 46-29 victory for the Athletics.
In Rochester, Mayo girls basketball’s Hannah Hanson, fresh off winning the 2023 Rochester Sports Female Athlete of the Year, scored her 1,000th total point in a 74-49 win against Northfield.
The Athletics play at Grand Meadow on Thursday, January 19 while the Mayo Spartans are at Winona on Friday, January 20.
