Crestwood FB’s Zach Mehmert signs LOI to Northern Iowa

(ABC 6 News) — After an impressive turnaround season for Crestwood Football, the Cadets are congratulating one of their own as he signs his commitment onto paper.

Tight end/linebacker Zach Mehmert signed his letter of intent to UNI Football on Tuesday, following in the footsteps of former Cadet Spencer Cuvelier who was a redshirt senior for UNI last season.

Mehmert’s impact on defense was notable this season, his 37 total tackles this season were the fourth-best on the team. Additionally, his 9.5 sacks were the third-most on the team.

UNI most notably had Clear Lake native Trevor Penning go as its highest-rated Panther ever in the NFL Draft earlier this year.
