Warm winter weather brings out early tick season
(ABC 6 News) – Tick season appeared early in Minnesota.
The Metropolitan Mosquito Control District says they found the first deer tick of the year.
They have already received several reports from residents who’ve also found the tiny pesks.
Experts say they don’t typically start their official tick surveillance until April.
“About one out of three adult deer ticks can be carrying the pathogens that lead to Lyme Disease,” said “So, it’s a pretty big risk for people out in their habitat.”
