(ABC 6 News) – Just about two weeks ago we learned that the Austin Public Schools’ Community Learning Center closed and canceled classes through Sept. 12 because of a bat infestation.

A letter was sent to parents and guardians two weeks ago from APS Superintendent Joey Page out of an abundance of caution. Dr. Page said the district had decided to move further education of students to its elementary buildings around the district because of the bats.

On Tuesday, Dr. Page told ABC 6 News that they have transitioned all the programming to the district’s elementary schools.

At this time, we are unaware if this will be a permanent foreclosure of the CLC.
