Shorewood seniors celebrate pie on Pi Day

(ABC 6 News) – Pi Day is not only for lovers of mathematics.

Lovers of Pie use the holiday to consume some of their favorite types of pie. Shorewood Senior Campus in Rochester made almost 100 pies to celebrate with their residents.

Marketing Director, Ellie Starks, tells us they started this event during the pandemic to entertain their residents. But now the residents have joined them to help turn it into a day to show apartments to potential residents.

“It’s wonderful when the residents can really showcase their own apartments and really talk about what it’s like to live here,” Starks said.

A number of residents tell us the pies are more of a bonus. But they truly love the comradery the day brings.
