Second construction trailer theft reported over weekend

(ABC 6 News) – The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday that a construction crew in the 2800 block of Prairie Woods Lane SW, Rochester Township, reported a break-in at an equipment trailer between Friday evening and Monday morning.

The workers left the construction site at about 5 p.m. Jan. 6, and returns at 6:30 a.m. Jan. 9, according to the OCSO, only to find the padlock cut off their equipment trailer parked near the residential site.

The sheriff’s office said workers estimated more than $5,000 in stolen power- and hand-tools.

The incident is similar to a NE Rochester trailer break-in, also reported Monday morning, but the sheriff’s office could not confirm or deny that the crimes were related.
