(ABC 6 News) UPDATE – RPS announced that bus routes on gravel roads will be canceled Monday afternoon.

RPS said after evaluating and consulting with First Student, the bus transportation company that the District partners with, they will not be able to get buses on gravel roads. RPS said to please arrange transportation for students who live on, or have a bus route stop on a gravel road.

Earlier Monday morning, RPS also canceled bus routes on gravel roads due to ice and heavy rain making it difficult for buses to navigate.

(ABC 6 News) – Rochester Public Schools (RPS) announced on their social media pages that bus routes on gravel roads are canceled Monday morning due to icy conditions.

RPS says buses are getting stuck on gravel roads because of ice. They say any students who ride the bus and have a bus stop on a gravel road or for any students that live on a gravel road, that buses will not be able to pick them up.

RPS says later Monday they will evaluate road conditions for bus routes on gravel stops.

Students who are not able to find transportation to school Monday morning, will have an excused absence. RPS says to call the school to let them know.
