RPL Seed Library open for the season

(ABC 6 News) – Wednesday is the first day you can get seeds for your garden at the Rochester Public Library Seed Library.

There are more than 12,000 packets of seeds ready for new and experienced gardeners. There are many, many fruits and vegetable seeds to choose from, including different varieties of beans, beets, bitter melon, carrots, corn, eggplant, melon, different greens, peas, peppers, radish, squash, tomatillos, tomatoes to name just a few.

Seed packets are available for checkout March 1 through August 31. Anyone may check out up to 10 seed packets per library card.

The Bookmobile will also carry a collection of seeds. The library has plenty of resources to help you grow, harvest, and save seeds or can connect you with gardening groups and organizations in our community.
