Rochester man arrested after alleged burglary attempt

(ABC 6 News) – The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Rochester man Wednesday on suspicion of trying to break into a storage office.

According to Lt. Lee Rossman, deputies were called to KO Storage on Hadley View Court NE for an attempted burglary.

Rossman said the office manager had seen a renter she recognized trying to break into the main office using various tools at about 2 a.m. Wednesday, on security footage — causing damage to the lock and door frame.

A deputy responded to the storage office at about 7:30 a.m. And viewed footage of the incident, noting what the suspect, a middle-aged man, was wearing.

At the same time, Rochester police responded to a medical call where a man and a woman were allegedly passed out in a car.

The deputy noted that the description of the unconscious man matched the suspect in the video, went to the medical call, and arrested Brandon Richard Andrews, 40, of Rochester.

Andrews was taken to the Adult Detention Center, where he allegedly admitted to trying to break into the office.

Andrews faces charges of possession of burglary tools and attempted 3rd-degree burglary.
