Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce to host economic summit on Jan. 31

(ABC 6 News) – The Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce will host an economic summit on Jan. 31.

The summit will take place at the Rochester International Event Center, 7333 Airport View Dr. SW, from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

This event is expected to provide a current snapshot and forecast of the year ahead for the local, regional, and national economy, including insight into the economic trends impacting businesses in the Rochester region.

The summit will include an Industry Panel Discussion, a Small Business and Entrepreneur Panel Discussion, and a presentation on the results of the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business Outlook Survey.

Bernard Baumohl will be this year’s featured keynote speaker. Baumohl serves as chief global economist for The Economic Outlook Group. Baumohl began his career as an analyst with the Council on Foreign Relations, specializing in international affairs and national security. He later served as an economist at European American Bank with responsibilities to monitor the global economy. During his time as an award-winning economics reporter with TIME magazine, Baumohl covered the White House, Federal Reserve and Wall Street. In addition to his current role as chief global economist, Baumohl has taught at NYU, Duke University and Florida Gulf Coast University.
