(ABC 6 News) – Riverland Community college said it needs donations for its food pantry.

The school’s food pantry helps provide food and other goods to students who can’t afford groceries on campus.

They are looking for food that is quick and easy to make. They do have refrigerators, so anything from milk, eggs, cheese, and frozen foods.

“I have not seen anything like we are seeing in the student, basic needs, the student mental health needs, and in particular our food pantries have gotten very bare….We know that there are people in the community that would love to help and we would love to help them help our students,” Director of Advocacy services Dr. Penny Rosenthal said.

Staff said right now, a thousand dollars worth of food only lasts the pantry a week. They are also accepting monetary donations as well.
