RFD responds to fire at Ramada Inn on S. Broadway Wednesday night

(ABC 6 News) – The Rochester Fire Department (RFD) responded to a fire at the Ramada Inn on South Broadway Ave. in Rochester on Wednesday evening.

RFD said when fire crews arrived on-scene, they encountered thick smoke on the 5th floor and a fire sprinkler system that was activated.

Once on-scene, crews upgraded the call to a full structure fire response and continued to investigate and locate the fire.

Fire crews were able to locate the fire which RFD said was the cause of some clothes that started on fire which had been extinguished by the building’s sprinkler system.

RFD said crews stayed on-scene for about an hour performing ventilation and water evacuation operations.

No injuries were reported.
