RCTC hosting 2023 NJCAA Division III Women’s Basketball National Championship

(ABC 6 News) – The Rochester Amateur Sports Commission in conjunction with the NJCAA and RCTC announced on Wednesday the 2023 NJCAA Division III Women’s Basketball National Championship will be played in Rochester.

The tournament will be played Mar. 13-18 at the RCTC UCR Regional Sports Center.

The tournament will feature the top 12 teams in NJCAA Division III from across the country. This is the 4th year the NJCAA Women’s Basketball National Championship has been in Rochester. The RCTC Men’s Basketball team placed 2nd at the National Tournament this year hosted in Loch Sheldrake, New York.

Executive Director of the Rochester Amateur Sports Commission Matt Esau is excited to have the opportunity host this prestigious event in Rochester. “Any time we have the opportunity to host a National Championship, it is a wonderful opportunity for our community. It allows us to showcase our great City and what we have to offer from a standpoint of hospitality and residents who care about our visitors.”

The Rochester Amateur Sports Commission and RCTC have a strong history with the NJCAA having hosted several National Championships over the past decade. Rochester has been home to the NJCAA Women’s Softball (2006-present) NJCAA Women’s Volleyball (2001-present) NJCAA Men’s Basketball (2017-2020) and NJCAA Wrestling Nationals (2012).
