(ABC 6 News) – New jobs will soon be coming to Albert Lea.

Design Ready Controls held a ribbon cutting for its newest manufacturing facility, which will provide high-tech manufacturer careers.

Those careers will help support the economic development of the city of Albert Lea, and be known as a leader and center of excellence in electric vehicle chargers.

“You just see our economy continue to grow and this is dotting the I, we see this as a successful company that’s going to push us to the next level. It also gives us a great opportunity to get us into a different industry, we haven’t had a lot of electronic-type businesses in our community, and I’m excited about that adventure for us,” said Mayor Vern Rasmussen Jr.

Available careers at the facility range from entry-level to advanced.

The company’s goal is to hire 30 to 40 people by the end of the year with plans to continue adding more than a hundred people over the next three years.

“Building that partnership with the community, you know we are here doing the ribbon cutting today. We started building products here just last week on Monday and couldn’t be more thrilled to make this not a short-term venture, but something that will last on for years and years and years and continue to support that scale that we already have,” Chief Commercial Officer Joe House explained.

The facility has been building products since last Monday.
