Iowa Gov. Reynolds appoints district judge in Judicial Election District 2A

(ABC 6 News) – Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds announced her appointment of Blake Norman as a district judge in Judicial Election District 2A.

Norman, of Garner, Iowa, currently serves as the Hancock County Attorney. He was appointed by the Board of Supervisors in 2017 and elected to a four-year term in 2018. Norman has also served as an Assistant County Attorney in Cerro Gordo County and Scott County.

Norman is one of five former Assistant Cerro Gordo County Attorney’s that have been appointed as judges. The other four are below.

  • Gregg Rosenbladt – District Judge in Iowa Judicial District 2A
  • Shawn Showers – District Judge in Iowa Judicial District 8A
  • Erica Crisp – District Associate Judge in Iowa Judicial District 5A
  • Denise Timmons – Administrative Law Judge

Norman received his undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Iowa and his law degree from the Drake University Law School with high honors.

Norman fills the vacancy created by the upcoming retirement of District Court Judge James Drew. 

Judicial Election District 2A includes Bremer, Butler, Cerro Gordo, Floyd, Franklin, Hancock, Mitchell, Winnebago, and Worth counties.
