UPDATE: Two killed, 1 injured in crash near Racine

(ABC 6 News) – Two people were killed and another injured in a head-on crash near Racine Thursday.

The Minnesota State Patrol now reports that Thersea Fluteplayer, 27 of Flandreau, SD has also died along with her passenger Rory Anderlik.

The driver of the second vehicle Hope Doherty suffered what is considered non-life-threatening injuries.

According to the report, Thersea Fluteplayer was traveling north on Highway 63 while Hope Dohertywas traveling south when the two collided near mile marker 24.


(ABC 6 News) – A Riceville, Iowa man was killed and two others were injured in a crash on Highway 63 Thursday.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash happened just before 6 p.m. 1 mile north of Racine Mower County.

The report states that Thersea Fluteplayer, 27 of Flandreau, SD was traveling north on Highway 63 with her passenger Rory Anderlik, 34 of Riceville, IA, while Hope Doherty, 45 of Racine, MN, was traveling south when the two collided near mile marker 24.

Rory Anderlik was killed in the crash, Fluteplayer suffered life-threatening injuries. Doherty suffered what is considered non-life-threatening injuries.

Both Fluteplayer and Doherty were transported to Saint Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.

The crash report states the road was snow and ice covered at the time of the collision.

The Mower County Sheriff’s Office, Grand Meadow Police and Ambulance and Fire, Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service, and the Stewartville Fire Department all assisted at the scene.

The crash shut down northbound Highway 63 from Racine to 6th Street in Stewartville for several hours.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation has since re-opened the stretch of Highway 63.
