City of Albert Lea offers ‘real’ Christmas tree disposal at no cost

(ABC 6 News) – The City of Albert Lea is offering disposal of natural Christmas trees at no cost to residents.

The city said residents may drop off trees at two locations – Frank Hall Park or the Transfer Station.

At Frank Hall Park, 505 Frank Ave., residents are asked to follow the signs to the parking lot north of the Humane Society.

At the Transfer Station, 2506 Richway Drive, residents can drop off trees during operating hours: 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Tuesday and Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.

The city said there is no charge for drop-off, but to please remove any wire, metal or plastic.

The deadline for drop-off is Jan. 8.
