(ABC 6 News) – The group Wilderness Inquiry returned to Rochester Wednesday hoping to connect students with nature.

The Canoemobile, often called the floating classroom, came to Riverside Central Elementary where students got to participate in a paddle relay race using canoeing supplies and other nature-themed, teambuilding activities.

“Our main thing that we’re hoping they take away is a love of the outdoors and nature but also teamwork and community is super important. That’s why we really love doing teamwork games,” Sydney Larson, an outdoor leader with Wilderness Inquiry, said.

According to Wilderness Inquiry, since 2010, the canoemobile has provided more than 150,000 participants across the country with hands-on water recreation.
