Byron City Hall handing out free batteries to residents for smoke, carbon monoxide alarms

(ABC 6 News) – It’s that time of year when the sun will begin to set even earlier.

Daylight saving time will end early on Sunday morning at 2:00 a.m. as we “fall” back one hour. Clocks will need to be set back one hour before bed on Saturday night, but that means an extra hour of sleep.

It’s also the time of year to change the batteries in home smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. Byron City Hall is urging its residents to do just that. Therefore, they are handing out FREE Energizer 9-volt and Eveready AA batteries – while supplies last!

The batteries were donated to the Byron Fire Department by Energizer.

Residents can pick up batteries at City Hall during the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
