The latest in teachers’ association negotiations with RPS

(ABC 6 News) – The Rochester Education Association confirmed Friday, Jan. 19, that they have not reached an agreement with Rochester Public Schools to increase teacher pay and benefits.

REA president Vince Wagner said REA’s latest offer asked for “6% and 2% raises, improved health benefits, expanded maternity leave, class size limits in elementary.”

“I was very hopeful we would finish last night being that we are so close together,” Wagner said in an email.

Negotiations will continue Feb. 1, he added.

Rochester Public Schools indicated that they are not commenting to media while negotiations are ongoing.
