(ABC 6 News) – The Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office wants you to know about a new phone scam.

Scammers are pretending to be local pastors, pushing people to buy gift cards and then send them the information.

The sheriff’s office says they’ve already received multiple reports of people in the county being targeted.

The sheriff’s office says if you get one of these texts, ignore it and make sure they don’t get a hold of your personal information.
