(ABC 6 News) – An Oronoco mobile home is barely standing after police say a man who was driving drunk crashed his car into it.

Just after 11 p.m. Saturday night, people living in the Oronoco Estates were awoken by a loud noise.

“I heard a loud bang, so I came outside because I thought they ran into our car,” Malik Wilson said.

Wilson lives next door and immediately ran outside to check the scene.

There he saw a man who had driven up onto his neighbor’s lawn get out of the car, covered in blood from his face to his hands.

“I asked him like four times like, ‘are you alright, you ok,’ then he just got out of the car and started running, and I kind of just took it upon myself to kind of go after him,” Wilson said.

Wilson and other neighbors were able to restrain the man until law enforcement arrived.

The suspect was later taken into custody at the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center.

Officials with OCSO say the man showed signs of impairment and reportedly missed his turn when he ended up on the lawn.

The people inside the mobile home were able to evacuate safely.
