(ABC 6 News) – A Stewartville man previously convicted of possessing child pornography appeared in court Thursday, Jan. 11, on three new charges.

Troy Lee Yotter, 44, pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing child pornography in December of 2021, after a man moved into a home Yotter had lived in, and found boxes of Child Sexual Abuse Materials (CSAM) or child pornography.

According to court documents, in September of 2023, the Rochester police learned that Yotter had obtained a cellphone with internet access — prohibited by the terms of his probation.

Search warrants filed in early January 2024 allege that when the probation agent noticed the phone and asked to see it, Yotter became nervous and claimed it had just died, even though the probation agent could see that it was still on and had a nearly full battery.

The probation officer seized the phone, according to court documents.

According to court documents, RPD searched the phone and allegedly located around 100 images of children and teens engaging in sex acts.

Yotter is scheduled to appear in Olmsted County Court again Jan. 23.
