(ABC 6 News) – Social-ICE in downtown Rochester gives locals and visitors a chance to jam out to hit music, play games and taste the delicacies local businesses have to offer.

The event is also a great opportunity for the vendors who make it special year after year.

Winter is typically a tough time for bars and restaurants in Rochester, so events like Social-ICE help boost profits during the colder months.

It also reminds people in town what Rochester has to offer, so they keep coming back and supporting the businesses they love.

“Come downtown and realize all the great things that are here; the great restaurants, the ability to have a fun time together,” said Kathleen Harrington, interim executive director of Downtown Rochester. “I think it’s really important that we have community parties like this to see our wonderful downtown.”

Social-ICE will be back on Saturday for a day dedicated to family-friendly fun. All are welcome to bring the kids along for the free event celebrating the joys of winter.
