(ABC 6 News) – Rochester Mayor Kim Norton will be traveling to Washington D.C. to attend President Biden’s State of the Union address in person.

Representative Brad Finstad invited Norton to attend. Norton says she’s excited Finstad thought of Rochester and says city government often has collaborate with congress to get work done.

She says she’s looking forward to hearing about the debt ceiling and what Biden will do to protect Rochester, and the nation’s economy.

“This President in particular has been really interested in building relationships with mayors. In fact, you’ll note that he has hired some to be in his cabinet and in key positions because cities are where work gets done, and he knows that,” Norton said.

President Biden will deliver the State of the Union Address on Tuesday at 8 p.m. The Republican response by Arkansas governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders will immediately follow starting at 8 p.m.
