Rochester Man arrested in child porn case

(ABC 6 News) – Rochester police arrested 31-year-old Brandyn Kane Thursday on recommended charges of possession and dissemination of child pornography, according to Capt. Casey Moilanen.

Moilanen said police received an Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) tip allegedly pointing to the Rochester man on Jan. 3. Kane was taken into custody Jan. 11.

Kane was charged Friday, Jan. 12, with two counts of possession of child pornography–minor under 14.

The documents allege that Kane ran a KIK account used to store and send photos and videos of child pornography involving children ages 3-7.

According to court documents, police pulled Kane over Jan. 11 on a search warrant, and seized a Samsung phone for photos of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), or child pornography, as well as multiple electronic devices from Kane’s home.

Court documents allege that Kane told police he had sent photos of girls to guys for money, but first said the photos were not of children.

Kane letter told police he would go to “CP,” or child porn links to sell photos and posed as a “younger girl,” when speaking to clients, according to his charging documents.

He is scheduled to appear in Olmsted County Court Feb. 8.
