(ABC 6 News) – Saturday, people all over the world are ringing in the new year of 2023, but local kids in Rochester had a little party of their own this afternoon at the “Spark” children’s museum at the Apache Mall.

There were two parties running from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and then again from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Each sold 165 tickets.

The 8th annual “Sparkle” party, kids and their families gathered to play, dance and have fun. They even had a ball drop of their own at the party.

“There’s something for everyone to do while you’re here and it’s great to get parents or grandparents or any other family member for that instance engaged with young kids and learning and interacting together,” explained Spark’s Executive Director Heather Nessler. “Kids are looking for something fun to do outside of the house too, so this is the best place to come for that. Lots of smiles and giggles.”

Crown making, sensory stations and a bubble dance party were the big events Saturday. Many families say it was the best way to celebrate the incoming of 2023.
