Red Flag Warning issued for northeast Iowa

(ABC 6 News) – The National Weather Service is issuing a red flag warning in northeast Iowa starting Monday.

Due to dry conditions, low humidity and strong winds, there is an increased risk for grass fires to get out of control.

Affected areas include Mitchell, Howard, Winneshiek, Allamakee, Floyd, Chickasaw, Fayette and Clayton counties.

The warning will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The public is asked to refrain from any type of burning outside.
