(ABC 6 News) – Mower County snowplows got a makeover as part of the annual Paint the Town celebration.

As part of a decorating contest, the Mower County Public Works Department trucks sported freshly colored plows, ribbons and paint jobs in support of Paint the Town Pink.

The annual event has raised nearly $3 million, with proceeds going towards cancer research at the Hormel Institute’s cancer research.

“We just want to do our part in supporting paint the town pink,” said Denny Zwiener. “Last year we painted our plows all pink, this year we had some requests to be a little more personal”

Paint the Town Pink events will continue until the end of February.
