(ABC 6 News) – A Rochester man has started a new initiative to help homeless people in our community.

His program is called “Helping Hands,” providing showers, clothing and a warm meal to those in need.

Helping Hands debuted last month at Crossfit Credence and looks forward to offering more assistance this Saturday.

“A word of encouragement, a word of God, planting that seed and letting them know that somebody is here to help them,” said Antonio Carreon, an organizer with Helping Hands. “They can feel comfortable, and they can come and have fun.”

Helping Hands is looking for volunteers and donation in the form of clothes or food.

Anyone is free to drop by Crossfit Credence this Saturday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
