‘Minnesota Winter Walk to School Day’ today

(ABC 6 News) – Feb. 7 is Minnesota Winter Walk to School Day!
Organized by Minnesota Safe Routes to School, the day is a celebration of walking, biking, and playing in the coldest and snowiest days of winter.
The goal is to get kids active for at least 15 minutes.
Some celebrations are small, others involve an entire student body as schools compete for the Golden Snow Boot Award.
Gage Elementary School in Rochester, MN won the award in 2023, when it was 10 degrees for the morning stroll. This year’s winner will be announced at a later date.
